founded in the mid 1980s by members of Iron Fist and Powerfool. The band was known as the pioneering force in the European Power Metal movement and their second and third studio albums, Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 1 and Pt.2, are considered a masterpieces of the genre.

Wacken Open Air 2011 was held from Thursday, 4 August to Saturday, 6 August. Including Apocalyptica, Trivium, Subway To Sally, Airbourne, Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Children Of Bodom, Helloween, Motorhead etc.

Since its creation, the band had released fifteen studio albums and had know numerous line-up changes: notables former members had created the bands Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Masterplan, Beautiful Sin, Bassinvaders, Ride the Sky, Place Vendome, Kiske/Somerville and Symfonia.
