Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band who formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. Consistent with being Thin Lizzy's leader, Lynott was composer or co-composer of almost all their songs. He was also one of the few black men to achieve significant success in hard rock. As well as being multiracial, the band drew its members not only from both sides of the Irish border but also from both the Catholic and Protestant communities. Their music reflects a wide range of influences, including country music, psychedelic rock, Irish music and traditional Irish folk music, but is generally classified as hard rock or heavy metal.

Critic for allmusic John Dougan has written that "As the band's creative force, Lynott was a more insightful and intelligent writer than many of his ilk, preferring slice-of-life working-class dramas of love and hate influenced by Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, and virtually all of the Irish literary tradition." Van Morrison, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix were major influences during the early days of the band, and later influences included American artists Little Feat and Bob Seger.

Tap harmonic is a technique used with fretted string instruments, (usually guitar). It is executed by tapping on the actual fret wire most commonly at the 12th fret, but sometimes at the 7th, 5th or, more rarely, the 19th fret. It can also be done by gently touching the string over the fret wire instead of tapping the fret wire if the string is already ringing.

Live at the Royal Albert Hall is a three-CD live album set by The Who, released in 2003.
Discs one and two were recorded on 27 November 2000 and consist of John Entwistle, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Zak Starkey, and John "Rabbit" Bundrick performing a concert at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust along with several guests. A DVD was also filmed of the event.
Disc three features four songs from The Who's last concert with John Entwistle, from 8 February 2002.
Townshend dedicated "A Heart to Hang Onto" to the late Ronnie Lane.
