Natural Harmonics _ Guitar lessons free

This is also known as an 'Open String Harmonic'.
Natural harmonics are achieved by gently touching your finger against certain positions on the string without letting the string touch the fret and picking the string with the right hand using a plectrum. When playing harmonics the best result is achieved by picking the string close to the bridge, and also selecting the bridge pickup using the selector switch ( Tone, Volume and Selector Switch).

The Eagles _ Farewell 1 Tour-Live from Melbourne part 3 _ Rock concerts DVD

The Eagles _ Farewell 1 Tour-Live from Melbourne
164 min
The name 'Farewell Tour' has nothing to do with the band's plan to quit touring and this is confirmed by Glenn Frey's quote in the interview contained in the DVD: "The longer this goes on, the better these songs sound. There is a 'sort of' honesty in calling the tour Farewell 1, with its implication that Farewell 2 will follow soon."
The show features some great light and sound effects apart from the great music that Eagles is renowned for. The 'five-part' harmony song, "Hole in the World" elicits a great crowd participation with the audience providing a 'clap rhythm' as the band sings. The song "Life's Been Good" features some antics by Joe Walsh and Frey with them staging a mock rivalry on stage and the latter having a hearty laugh at the former. The song also features a 'helmet cam' session where the crowd gets to see what the camera on Walsh's helmet points at.

Pinched Harmonics _ Lead guitar lessons

This is a difficult technique to master and will take you some time before you can play it on demand. Like the artificial harmonic it allows a harmonic to be played on a fretted note.
When carrying out this technique what you are trying to achieve is to pick the string as usual with the plectrum, but then hit the strings with your thumb almost simultaneously. For this the plectrum is usually held so that only a small proportion of it is sticking out from beneath your finger and thumb. The string is fretted, the plectrum is used to pick the note and then the thumb hits the string soon after.
Pinched Harmonics _ Lead guitar lessons
Please note that the thumb only momentarily makes contact with the strings. Also it is vital to note that the position where you pick the strings matters. There are locations along the string often referred to as 'sweet spots' and the string must be picked here. If you fail to do so the harmonic will not sound.

Jeff Beck - Live 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival _ Greatest guitarist

Cause We've Ended As Lovers & more.
Geoffrey Arnold "Jeff" Beck (born June 24, 1944 to Arnold and Ethel Beck in Wallington, England) is an English rock guitarist. He was one of the three noted guitarists — the others being Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page — to have recorded with the band The Yardbirds. He was ranked the 14th on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
Jeff Beck - Live 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival
Much of Beck's recorded output has been instrumental, and his releases have spanned genres ranging from blues-rock, heavy metal, jazz fusion and (currently) a blend of guitar-rock and electronica. Beck has earned wide critical praise and four Grammy awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, and had two hit albums in the mid-1970s as a solo act. However, Beck has not been able to establish and maintain a broad following or the sustained commercial success of many of his collaborators and bandmates.
Beck has been nominated for 2009 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Kevin Eubanks _ Great jazz guitarist

Kevin Tyrone Eubanks (born November 15, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), is a jazz guitarist who has been the leader of the Tonight Show Band with host Jay Leno since 1992. He composed the Tonight Show's closing theme music, "Kevin's Country", in 1992.
He played with Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Slide Hampton, and Sam Rivers before starting to lead his own groups in 1983. Like his brother Robin Eubanks, a jazz trombonist, he has played on record with Dave Holland.

In 2005, Eubanks received an honorary doctorate degree from the Berklee College of Music, of which he is an alumnus. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He has served as an active member of the Artistic Advisory Panel of the BMI Foundation since 1999.
He is known for his lingering, amused laughter following many of Leno's sharper jokes, and for Leno routinely poking fun at his alleged marijuana, pornography and masturbation addictions. He is also known for being a huge Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia 76ers fan, which is often seen when he wears hats with their logos, and on occasion Philadelphia Flyers' and Philadelphia Phillies logos, during shows. Following the Eagles' Super Bowl loss to the Patriots, he memorably stuck his entire body into a giant tub of chunky New England clam chowder soup.

Eubanks is a vegetarian. Kevin joked on December 15, 2006 to Tobey Maguire and Leno that he's "practicing" vegetarianism (because he was still eating fish during those times). He does promote the vegetarian diet as healthy. Leno commonly mentions this on the show when jokes involve vegetables (such as in typos on supermarket flyers during the "Headlines" segment). On the April 21st, 2008, episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Eubanks said that he has given up eating seafood. On 26 June 2007, PETA selected Eubanks as the sexiest vegetarian alive. Carrie Underwood was the female counterpart.

Hammer On _ Free guitar lessons

Hammer-on is a stringed instrument playing technique performed (especially on guitar) by sharply bringing a fretting-hand finger down on the fingerboard behind a fret, causing a note to sound. This technique is the opposite of the pull-off. Passages in which a large proportion of the notes are performed as hammer-ons and pull-offs instead of being plucked or picked in the usual fashion are known in classical guitar terminology as legato phrases. The sound is smoother and more connected than in a normally picked phrase, due to the absence of the otherwise necessity to synchronise the plucking of one hand with the fingering on the fretboard with the other hand; however, the resulting sounds are not as brightly audible, precisely due to the absence of the plucking of the string, the vibration of the string from an earlier plucking dying off. The technique also facilitates very fast playing because the picking hand does not have to move at such a high rate, and coordination between the hands only has to be achieved at certain points. Multiple hammer-ons and pull-offs together are sometimes also referred to colloquially as "rolls," a reference to the fluid sound of the technique. A hammer-on is usually represented in guitar tablature (especially that created by computer) by a letter h. A rapid series of alternating hammer-ons and pull-offs between a single pair of notes is called a trill.

Guitar Lesson _ Pull Off _ Beginner guitar lessons

Pull Off
A pull-off is a stringed instrument technique performed by plucking a string by "pulling" the string off the fingerboard with one of the fingers being used to fret the note.
A pull-off is often performed on a string which is already vibrating; when the fretting finger is pulled off (exposing the string either as open or as stopped by another fretting finger lower on the same string) the note playing on the string changes to the new, longer vibrating length of the string. Pull-offs are performed on on both fretted instruments (e.g., electric guitar) and unfretted instruments (e.g., violin). They are used to sound gracenotes, in part because since the string is not picked or bowed again to produce the sound of the second note, the transition from one to the other sounds gentler and less percussive.
In the transition between the initial and final notes, the string may vibrate in an inharmonic manner for several cycles when it is plucked with the fretting finger, because the string is being plucked in a part of the string not usually used for plucking. The result,a slight "quack" sound, may be particularly audible when the interval of the pull-off is large. This transition also consumes some of the vibrational energy in the sounded string, with the effect that the second note is generally much quieter than the original.
